I bought this cleanser in early September when there was a discount at my local Innisfree store. I was running out of my facial cleanser, and I just wanted to purchase a more affordable option (I was prescribed La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar H Isobiome Cleanser by my dermatologist).
I cleanse my face three times daily, so I ran out of my cleanser quite fast. Before you comment that it is too much, I have very oily skin and am very acne-prone.
Living in a hot and humid tropical climate is not helping at all. When my skin became too oily, it became congested very easily and even became itchy (due to dermatitis from being overly moisturised from the sebum). After working with my dermatologist for months, he agreed that cleansing my face in the middle of the day is a good idea for our treatment plan.
That’s why I think getting a hydrating cleanser like Innisfree Green Tea Amino Hydrating Cleanser would be perfect for me.
In this post, I will share my experience using the product on my oily, acne-prone skin.
Product Claims
- Main ingredients: green tea, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid
- Textures: cream-to-thick, cloudy foam
- Target: thoroughly removes impurities including fine dust that clog the pores and balances the skin’s oil and moisture levels to keep skin hydrated
- Vegan-certified: Yes, no animal-derived ingredients
Despite the name having the word ‘hydrating’, the product itself is suitable for a variety of skin concerns. The foaming nature of the cleanser is also great to take off sebum without overstripping it.
Innisfree marketed it as a gentle cleanser ‘that sticks to the basics’ with over 41.88 million bottles sold globally.

My Experience
How I use it
I usually take a pea-sized amount of the cleanser and make a thick lather by adding some water.
Like any other facial cleanser I have used before, I take around one minute to cleanse the face to ensure that I reach every part and get enough time for the ingredients to get absorbed. People often get too hurried and miss some spots, such as the face perimeter or the forehead, leaving the makeup or other residue not getting removed properly.

Hydrating not drying
I really like how well it is at cleansing my face from sebum, makeup, and sunscreen. It is hydrating and makes my skin feel refreshed. I do not see skin peeling after use, which is sometimes the case when I use a creamy-foaming cleanser (I’m looking at you, Ponds).
At my first few uses, I do feel my skin a little bit tighter. The sensation I don’t get from my La Roche-Posay cleanser. But it does not make my skin dry whatsoever. After two months, I think my skin has acclimatised to the product, and I don’t feel any tightness anymore.
Final Verdict
I think I’m putting this cleanser on my ‘comfort product list’, which is a list of products that I can always come back and rely on.
It does not give me any allergic reaction or break me out. It does a perfectly good job of taking off stuff on my face too, even when I forget to use micellar water/cleansing oil first. Moreover, this cleanser works well with the rest of my skincare products.
It does have a fragrance, but it is quite faint and smells nice too. I do not hate it. I am overall happy with my purchase.
Will I repurchase it? Yes. It’s cheap, effective, and lasts a long time. You only need a small amount of the product to create a thick foam for the whole face.
Do I recommend it? Yes, not only my oily acne-prone people but also those who have dry and sensitive skin too. I think all skin types will love this one.
And that was my experience of using Innisfree Green Tea Amino Hydrating Cleanser for around two months straight! Have you used this cleanser before? Tell me your experience in the comments down below!
